About the Event
These H.O.P.E. group gatherings are an opportunity to connect with like-minded people, with the intention of creating a spiritually supportive online community.
The theme for this meeting will be 'Refuge & Resourcing'. We will introduce an approach of trauma healing known as Comprehensive Resource Model, and also explore the idea of Refuge from a spiritual perspective.
The sessions will generally begin with a check-in, and then an exploration of a particular theme related to trauma healing or spirituality. This will be followed by a guided meditation linked to a healing intention - either towards a participant in need of support or a topical issue arising from 'collective trauma'.
So, what is unique about these gatherings?
Firstly I am eager to spread the message that modern trauma therapies can be crafted as an offering which can benefit everyone and deepen our understanding of our living reality. This includes insights about how the brain processes trauma, as well as principles that come from a variety of therapies - especially Mindful Self-Compassion, Comprehensive Resource Model, and the Internal Family Systems Model. I believe that when these principles are widely known, we will be better equipped not just to heal our own trauma but also heal the unresolved collective trauma which causes so much suffering on this planet.
Second, I am passionate about sharing the Kalachakra model of spirituality as a fully inclusive system which naturally embraces psychology, modern science and all forms of spirituality in the world today. Originating over 1000 years ago in Tibet, Kalachakra uniquely describes the universe in terms of three interconnected levels – the outer universe and the inner universe of our minds and bodies, which both evolve and change with time, and the timeless, fully embodied enlightened reality which underlies both of these (our 'Fundamental Goodness'). When our personal and collective trauma is healed, this Fundamental Goodness is unveiled.
In weaving together these two streams – spirituality and trauma healing - I sincerely pray that we may make a small but significant contribution to not only our own future wellbeing, but the wellbeing of our wider community and our planet.
